From Blob to Baby, Week 14

Dearest Family and Friends:

Here is the photo that we received Friday (1/7/2011) at our office visit!  


Everything is right on schedule as they would expect.  They did a nuchal translucency screening with the sonogram today which basically tests your baby's risk of having down's syndrome and it came back negative so that was good news to hear!  We also got to hear the baby's heartbeat pumping along at 152 beats per minute :)  


We were absolutely amazed by it since it was our first time hearing the little munchkin.  The doctor also said that the baby was extremely active kicking around in me as well (even though I can't feel it quite yet).  Our next visit is the first week of February and at that point they are going to do an anatomy check and we will be able to find out the sex of the baby!!  Maybe I'll make up my mind by then to find out or not!  Those are the updates for now!

Welcome to The Johnson Blog!  We figured since we have the little one on the way that this might be a good means of communication to the craziness that will become our wonderful life.

Since this will be a "family blog" if you will, both Laura and I will be able to post to it to give everyone updates if they wish to keep track.  No idea how often we will update or if this is the right means of communication, but you have to start somewhere right?

I hope you all enjoy the posts to come.  We will aim for them to be informative and entertaining.
