More Prep for the Beanette

Several people have asked how things are coming along in the nursery department since we have painted it such a sweet nursery-esque green.  Let's just say that things have come a long way and we are feeling much more ready (and equipped) for the little bean to arrive.  The main thing holding us back from forging ahead with all of our baby ideas was the fact that the carpet in the nursery was still, well, green.  The previous owners of our house had done god knows what to the original carpeting and had installed (shoddily I must add) the darkest, ugliest, and ill fitting carpet I think we have ever seen.  If you don't believe us here is a quick shot of what the carpet looked like:

We have been putting off installing new carpet in that room because April was such a busy month for our family.  When May arrived we headed to Home Depot with one goal in mind: must get new carpet, baby arriving soon!  This was one project we didn't feel comfortable DIYing it so we hired a professional to come out and the result was:

BEAUTIFUL!!!  I was so excited!!

Next project, moving all of this ---->

.....Back into the nursery :)  That's where the hubby comes in since I am not allowed to lift anything at this point in our pregnancy!  Thanks honey!

With a little bit of manual labor, a few trips to Ikea, a couple of bottles of spray paint, a new crib, and some of the wonderful gifts we have received the nursery is now in a state of this:

Oh yeah, and did I mention that we now have a little cherry blossom tree on the wall for our little lady as well?  That was our project a few days ago and we love how it turned out!  It was just the girly edge we needed to our gender neutral color palette :)
I hope you enjoyed the update!  We still have our glider to come in from Babies R Us and a few pictures to be hung and some other odds and ends that will come together in the next few weeks!  We are getting there!
Thanks for reading!
